Prof. Walid El Kammash

  • Dr. El Kamash is the Vice Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Suez Canal University, Professor and accredited consultant of geotechnical and foundation. He is holding the philosophy of doctorate degree as well as Master of Science degree from the Suez Canal University and a visiting scholar of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kansas in USA. He is qualified as a Mentor, Professor at the Civil Engineering Department. In addition to teaching, he is providing consultancy in Civil Engineering, included geotechnical engineering, Structural analysis, pavement design, construction quality control, destructive and non-destructive tests of concrete.

Consultancy and supervision works

  • He is providing consultancy and professional training to staff major oil and gas operators in Egypt and GCC countries. Dr. El Kamash is the chairman of “EDH consultations in geotechnical and structures” which contributes in designing and consulting many projects especially in oil and gas companies such as Petrobel and EPC, El sewedy, Capital and others. He has published numerous articles on a range of Geotechnical engineering & structural analysis and Supply Chain topics.

Dr Walid has been the consultant for the following projects :

–  Th plasma centre in the governorate of Ismailia.
–  Qeha and Edfina factories in new El Sadat City.
–  The new Port Said Stadium.
–  The new poly propylene station in Port Said governorate.
–  The new porto Said project in the governorate of port Said.
–  The artificial lakes in El LLAHON.
–  The grand garage in El Tahrir Square.
–  The males accommodation project in El Arish.
–  The females accommodation project in El Arish.
–  Dar El Eftaa project in El Suez City.

  • From January 2010 to October 2010, he took up the role of Department Manager at Belayeim Petroleum company in Egypt. Being involved in industrial works, he was in charge of supervising assigned staff and managing the design, procurement, and construction contracting processes according to company standard. Part of his duties involved negotiating modifications with architects and consulting engineers, with a constant focus on improving operations, minimizing turnaround times, and streamlining work processes. He took pride in fostering a collaborative and efficient workplace that aimed to provide high-quality, seamless customer service.
  •  From January 2008 to December 2009, he assumed the position of Head Section at the same company, supervising industrial works mainly. He proactively attended pre-construction conferences, conducted field investigations, and reviewed tender specifications, scopes of work, and commercial terms and conditions of the tender. Providing technical advice to architects, engineers, and contractors on code conformance issues was part of his daily tasks.
  • Civil Engineer at Belayeim Petroleum Company in Egypt from June 1999 to December 2007. He oversaw responsibilities which included supervision and inspection, technical evaluation and contracting, planning, control, coordination, and safety.

A few projects that he has consulted include:

–  Spearheading the industrial works at the BELAYIM plant at Port Fouad fields FIELD “TEMSAH” between 1999 and 2001. This entailed overseeing the excavation, driving piles, casting R.C. by pumps steel, roads, infrastructure, etc., for the oil and gas plant.

– Undertaking the Demmiatta-Port Said Highway project, where he managed the asphalting of a 12 Km stretch of the highway, as well as the construction of light structures from 2001 to 2002.

–  Laying the Skada cable across the Suez Canal to Rafah, which involved controlling the gas valves, from 2001-2002 in Sinai.

–  Designing light structures needed for the plant, including a car workshop, construction workshop, warehouses, foundations, etc.

–  Supervising all projects in the plant.
